C492 Combustion Laboratory Unit

The C492 combustion laboratory unit from PA Hilton is an educational unit that enables students to study different aspects of combustion and burner operations using burners that are typically used for commercial purposes. C492 unit is frame-mounted, fully instrumented and requires only a conventional single-phase electrical supply, cooling water and the chosen fuel to operate. This unit offers familiarization of the operation and adjustment of a commercial oil or gas burner. It allows the assessment of a burner including turndown range, firing range, flame stability, flame shape, flame radiation and smoke emission. For students who are pursuing advanced research, an optional high specification gas analyzer is available which, in addition to standard analysis, also enables the investigation of NO, CO2 and SO2.
