Height measurement of Petri dishes

The Medical Industry heavily uses sensor technology to cope with the increasing demand of high quality medical technology based products, apparatus, plant automation and pharmaceuticals. For going through these operations, consistent quality control and compliance with narrow tolerances is reuqired. Sensors play a major role in attaining these targets.

The inspection of the fill-level in the plates is performed with the help of a three-channel version of the capaNCDT6220 capacitive measurement system. This non-contact measuring system uses three sensors with measuring range of 4mm and can determine the fill-level over three tracks on the petri dish. For effective and accurate results, the dish is electrically grounded on a metallic surface.
