The HFN8 rope belt friction equipment is an educational tool used for performing rope belt experiments to demonstrate the concept of friction. The experiment hardware comprises a wall-mounted fixed pulley with a loaded belt. It is supplied with four different ‘V’ angled pulleys typically of 60, 90, 120 degrees and a flat rim to allow investigation of the ratio of belt tensions when a rope passes over different pulleys. With the help of the instruction manual supplied with the equipment, teachers can help students to perform experiments to determine the coefficient of friction, angle of the lap for different belts.
