The HST38 Deflection of Trusses training equipment is designed for educational institutes to visually illustrate the nature of forces set up in various members of the Truss. The training equipment is used with HST1 (Universal Frame & Stand) to measure the truss joint deflections using a movable dial gauge. It enables students to compare experimental deflections with theoretical values obtained from Castigliano’s theorem.
The entire training equipment kit is available with tools and an instruction manual to perform the different laws of the unit load method and Castigliano’s theorem.
Experimental capabilities:
- Comparison of experimental deflections with theoretical values
- derived from Castigliano's first theorem
- Study of the efficiency of different trusses
- Construction of pin-jointed trusses
