HST7 Deflection of Frames

The HST7 deflection of frames training equipment is designed for educational institutes to investigate the deflections of a loaded rectangular portal. It enables students to compare the experimental results with theoretical values derived using Castigliano’s theorem and numerical analysis by Simpson’s rule. The entire training equipment kit is available with tools and an instruction manual to perform the different laws of Castiglianos’ theorem, Clerk Maxwell’s theorem, Simpson’s rule, horizontal thrust, unit load method, side sway and bending moment diagrams (BMD).

Experimental capabilities:

  • Comparison of experimental results with theoretical values derived
  • Using Castigliano's theorem and numerical analysis by Simpson's rule.
